  8. Night of Moonblood- Stargazer and Sister: Fitting in its dreamlike quality!
Eanrin’s Words of Advice- Beth Andrus: Beautifully done! I love the detail on the trees, and the texture behind the quote.
Catnap- Hannah Rogers: Impressive detail, as always! I like the candlelight.
Blood Calls to Blood- Dara Easter: I think the Chronicler is my favourite part of this piece, and the shadow behind him.
Heartless- Victoria Regitz: I especially like the highlights to the dragon’s eye!
The Woman and the Golden Gong- Dara Easter: Dramatic detail, from the drop of blood on the fallen unicorn’s horn, to the moon shaped crown!
“Where Did the Song Bird go?”- Stargazer: So much detail in one piece! I like the ropes, and the golden birds in the distance.
The Deer Path- Catherine Regitz: lovely work on the tree-bark, and the star-like leaves!
Eanrin’s Tears- Hope Dougherty: I’m amazed at the attention to each hair and whisker! And what a powerful scene to depict!
The Sylph- Rebeka B: Much to my frustration, I haven’t read A Branch of Silver, A Branch of Gold yet. But I take it that this sylph is a cheeky thing.
Betina and Rosie- Gabriella Silverstein: I’m afraid I haven’t read Fallen Star yet, either. But I’ll fix that, and read the scene so sweetly shown here.
A Branch of Three Parts- Dara Easter: This might be my favourite of your work this year!
The Cat and the Coward- Hannah Rogers: Lovely colour and detail- especially on the blade!
Heloise and the Sylph- Marget Regitz: The swirls represent the windy sylph, right? Nice!
The Gift- Hannah LaTrat: This is adorable! I love this whole art style!
Palace Var-Emma Kry: I like the wall of roses, and you’ve even added a stain glass window!
The Fish Who Felt Nothing, The Girl Who Felt Everything- Beth Andrus: I like the subtle light in the water, and Hydrus’ fringes. Well Done!
Lady Leta- Michaela Rhodenizer: Very dramatic lighting. I also note that while hands are notoriously hard to do, you’ve done such a good job here!
Veiled Rose- StarGazer: That cloth is very Arpiar-esque!
Sir Eanrin- Skye Hoffert: Great work showing his two sides!

  9. Part 2
Lady Gleamdren- E.F.B: Nice curve to her hair!
Sairu and the Cat- Catherine Regitz: This is such a cool art style!
Throught the Woods- This whole piece is incredible! I’m not sure what to highlight, there’s so much to its beauty!
The Last Queen- Hannah LaTray: Aw, bittersweet.
Dragon’s Kin- Liv K. Fisher: The different depths to the black add such an interesting texture!
Her Daddy’s Eye- Faith Song: Aw, so cute! I see that Dame Imreldera has Pembrick's Creaturpedia and Is Man a Myth on her bookshelf. I approve!
Princess of Arpiar- Keturah Goldsberry: That IS a dress I can picture the regal faeries wearing. I also note that the hood acts like a veil.
Heloise- Rebeka B. : I see leaves in the corners- symbolising the branches, maybe?
Ce Imral- Catherine Regitz: Well done on this piece! The glow is a nice touch.
Knights of Farthestshore- Stargazer: I like how you’ve made Eanrin’s and Beana’s shadows!
The Fallen Star- Keanna Hinkle: This is a unique entry!
Shadow Hand of Here and There- Gabriella Silverstein: This is amazing! I especially love how you’ve painted the hair.
The Black Dogs- Michaela Rhodenizer: With only a few strokes you’ve made a very dramatic picture!
The Game- Kenna Lee: Chilling quote- but I like the font you’ve written it in.
Eanrin: Knight and Bard of Farthestshore- Courtney Dusenbury- excellent piece! Both cat and man look how I picture Eanrin.

    1. Ha. xD Yes. I wasn't sure anyone would notice any of the many references in that picture, but they're there for the ones payin attention.

    2. I was so happy when I saw "Pembrick's Creaturepedia" and "The Akallabeth" on her shelves.

    3. Ha. xD You got the reference! I didn't think anyone would know what "Akallabeth" means. xD

    4. YES. I NOTICED "THE AKALLABETH" TOO! :D I was so excited when I saw it there. XD

  10. Alright, I finally have time to go through them all one by one:

Night of Moonblood--lovely job! I especially like the beautiful star-swirls.
Eanrin's Words of Advice--I love everything about this piece--the calligraphy especially! The words are as pretty as the painting next to them.
Catnap--aww, so sweet. I think my favorite part of the picture is that sweet-looking unicorn candlestick in the background (where can I buy one of those for my own room?)
Blood Calls to Blood--apparently my last name is Easter now, lol. Personally, my favorite thing about this piece of mine is the eyes lurking in the background.
Heartless--ooh, so pretty! The dragon's eyes give me a delightful shiver.
The Woman on the Golden Gong--I think I like this the best of the pieces I submitted this year, probably because I managed to squeeze in Tolkien references on the gong.
Where Did the Song Bird Go?--There are so many beautiful things about this piece I can't decide what I best. All I can say is, well done.
The Deer Path--excellent job! I love how smoothly the colors blend into each other.
Eanrin's Tears--so much detail! I really admire how much patience when into this. It was certainly worth the effort.
The Sylph--I've been pondering how to draw a sylph for a while, but I think you hit the nail right on the head in this picture! Lovely job!
Bettina and Rosie--Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I love it so much!
A Branch of Three Parts--I'm just glad how well those hands turned out, they were driving me nuts when I was drawing them.

  11. Okay, part 2!...

The Cat and the Coward--The expressions and body language, hands down. They're so perfect! They're definitely the best part of the piece.
Heloise and the Sylph--I really like Heloise's eyes, you did a great job!
The Gift--Everything is cute! Even grumpy Frostbite is cute! I love it!
Palace Var--I especially like those pretty rose vines in the background.
The Fish Who Felt Nothing, the Girl Who Felt Everything--okay, the Hydrus is just so creepy! You did a wonderful job! That's probably how I'm going to picture it when I read Draven's Light now.
Lady Leta--I like the spreading pool of candlelight and the shadows it casts, such an excellent and delicate job!
Veiled Rose--I really like the sleeve of the dress, it's so pretty! And the lighting on the rose is just right.
Beana--I really like the spots! They can be so hard to draw, but you did a wonderful job of making them look natural.
Sir Eanrin--okay, that is just so cool and epic. You did an amazing job!
Lady Gleamdren--amazing job on the shadows and the eyelashes--everyone draws eyes so much better than me lol.
Sairu and the Cat--I love everything, but especially the cat and the flower in her hair! (This picture gives me a sudden urge to go out and pet cats, probably because he looks so fluffy and pettable. Just don't tell my dog--she'll act so betrayed).
Through the Woods--out of all the lovely parts of this picture, I think I like the little twinkles of light everywhere best--they really give the wood an air of Fairy and mystery. Also, Heloise's hair is just perfect--it makes me cringe in sympathy for her hair troubles.
The Last Queen--this picture is so pretty but it makes me want to cry. I love the expression on the Queen's face--she looks so lonely and unsure and sad. It makes me want to hug her, until I remember what she becomes and I go off to quietly sniffle in a corner.
Dragon's Kin--I think my favorite bit is what you used as a medium--I've never tried to use paint and pastels in one piece! It produces such an epic effect it's making my fingers itch to try it out.
Her Daddy's Eyes--This piece is just so, so, so AWESOME! And beautiful! And epic! And it has the Akallabeth and Pembrick's Creaturepedia! AND AN EANRIN/IMRALDERA BABY AHHHHHH! I was really confused at first, trying to figure out what book it was in, when I saw it was from *The Future???* Then my Mom and I started laughing with sudden realization and delight.

    1. Heh. Yes. xD That was the reaction I was going for. It closely mirrors my own thoughts while drawing it.
And I didn't even put the "The Future???" on there. xD That was all Maid Hannah's doing, and it made me laugh when I saw it.

    2. Thank you! I don't think there's anything wrong with how you draw eyes, btw. It's just your unique style! You don't even want to know how many times I erased and re-drew Gleamdren's eyes to get them the way they are. ._.

ARE THOSE DWARVEN RUNES ON THE GONG? I THOUGHT THEY LOOKED FAMILIAR!!!

I noticed the Akallabeth too! :D

    3. Oh, thank you!
And yep! Those are Futhork runes, good eye! When I was drawing the picture I read through the necessary scenes in Golden Daughter, and it said that the Dragon carved words of hate and darkness and stuff in them (I'm paraphrasing slightly lol). So I tried to think of what to write that would be full of hate and darkness, and inspiration struck! So I translated a part of the One Ring poem and several lines from the Lay of Leithian and put them on the gong.

  13. And back for part 3!

The Princess of Arpiar--everything about his picture is wonderfully done--The lighting is perfect, the roses are gorgeous, and I seriously want that dress.
Heloise--What a lovely job at watercolors! I still struggling to learn how to use them correctly. All your pieces of art are lovely, and this is no exception!
Ce Imral--this picture is soooo pretty, but my favorite part is the beard. I don't know why, but it's the truth. Love the beard.
Knights of Farthestshore--I think Blue said this, but I'm going to say it again anyway because it's so true--I love the shadows on Beana and Eanrin! I was sitting there admiring all the prettiness when my brother suddenly said, "Hey, look at the shadows!", and I looked and started laughing with happiness. You made me very happy.
Let Me Tell You A Story--okay, I love the little girl SO much, how she just plops down, all eager to hear the story. She always makes me grin.
The Fallen Star--that is probably the most original piece of fanart I have ever seen, and one of the prettiest! Your originality must be enormous!
Shadow Hand of Here and There--I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this piece, it's all so perfect!
Leonard the Jester--That hat is perfect. I can just see Leo jumping back and forth with that bobbing up and down crazily on his head. Good job!
The Black Dogs--wow, that's sooo cool. My favorite part is the open, red mouth of the howling dog, I can just imagine it swallowing me whole!
The Game--The writing is so cool! Did you come up with it yourself or base it on something? It looks a bit like Futhork/dwarven runes.
Eanrin: Knight and Bard of Farthestshore--how did you get such perfect pictures! The perfectness of the pictures astounds me. You did an amazing, amazing job.
I think that's it! Keep making beautiful art, people, it makes my day SOOOO much brighter!

    1. Dara Esther, if you are willing to do a bit of sewing: the pattern i used for this dress was Burda 2484. I used crepe-back satin for the lining and lace fabric from Jo-Ann's. Lace fabric can usually be found in the wedding fabric section. If you don't have a Jo-Ann's nearby, you can always order online, but you'll have to get the pattern from the Simplicity website, as Jo-Ann's does not have it on thier's. Hope you found this helpful. Happy sewing!

    2. Data Eather, if you are willing to do a bit of sewing: to make the dress, I used the Burda 2484 pattern. I used crepe back satin for the lining and lace fabric for the outer part. Lace fabric can usually be found with the wedding fabrics, though be warned, it can get a bit pricy. All of my materials I got from Jo-Ann Crafts and Fabrics, save the pattern. They didn't have it in the store and it's not listed on the website, so I had to order it off Simplicity. If you haven't already, I recommend signing up for the Jo-Ann emails. They ALWAYS have coupons. If you don't have a local Jo-Ann's, just order the things you need off the website. If you have any further questions or help, feel free to email me at willothewispshop@gmail.com. Hope this information was helpful and happy sewing!

  14. Eanrin: Knight and Bard of Fathestshore: Thank you. Actually it is photo manipulation so I did not just get the pictures I created them. I had to put a blindfold and completly change his clothes as well as close the cats eyes and put them all in a forest background. Also lots of color choices and other things were changed.

Hey everyone, FYI: Stargazer left reactions to all the art pieces over on the Goldstone Wood Goodreads group (she said she didn't have an account that let her post here). https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/18520834-goldstone-wood-fan-art-contest-2017?ref=discussion_newsfeed_item_button#comment_166102344
